Dundee City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to provide physical distance measures for higher levels of pedestrians and cyclists.  The Order is expected to be in force for 12 months from 11 January 2021 .  Its maximum duration in terms of the Act is eighteen months.
 
The effect of the Order is to prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic in The Esplanade from a point 160 metres or thereby from the junction with Bridge Street for a distance of 400 metres or thereby in a westerly direction.
 
Parking restrictions will be in place on The Esplanade from its junction with Bridge Street for a distance of 110 metres or thereby.  Cyclists and pedestrians are unaffected by this order.
 
An alternative route will be available via Bridge Street, A930 Dalhousie Road, A930 Monifieth Road, Gray Street and Brook Street.
