SGN have informed us of imminent works to take place on Dundee Road – please see their information below for further details.

Our safety-critical project to upgrade the gas network in Dundee Road, Broughty Ferry needs to go ahead now, rather than wait until the pandemic passes, to ensure your local community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come. We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance. We have agreed with Dundee City Council to carry out this necessary work during the national lockdown to minimise disruption to the local community.

Starting on 25 January 2021 until 22 February, our engineers will be working to replace around 898m of old metallic gas main with new PE pipe. We will be working from the junction of Victoria Road to Fairfield Road. It will be necessary to operate under temporary traffic lights.  Access will also be maintained for emergency vehicles.

We appreciate that this is a very busy area and wish to assure you that our work will progress as quickly as possible and we’ll be doing everything we can to limit delays and disruption. We will be working seven days a week if required to ensure the project remains on schedule.

We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities from the virus. Our colleagues will be keeping to social distancing guidelines on our sites and we’d ask communities to keep their distance too. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus
